Stop Running and Surrender to God

I was fourteen years old when I started running from God. I felt like God took my life away from me and left me with a deep sense of loss, anger, and confusion. My pain made me run as far away from God as possible. Only when I finally surrendered to Him did I find peace. But it took forty years to get there.

I know what it’s like to run from God when life gets tough. When bad things happen, our first thought is usually, “God, why did you let this happen?” We think we can handle the struggles of life on our own, but I know from experience that true peace only comes when we choose to surrender to God.

Why We Run from God

It’s natural for us to run away from God when we are going through difficult times because it’s hard to understand why bad things happen to us—especially if we think we’re good people. We feel like God doesn’t care about us, or that He has abandoned us in our time of need.

So instead of seeking Him out, we try to find comfort elsewhere—in relationships, food, alcohol, drugs, etc.—but nothing ever seems to fill the void inside us. It is only when we come back to God that we can find true peace and contentment.

Surrendering isn’t easy because it requires us to accept Jesus and seek God’s way. We have a difficult time understanding why He doesn’t always answer our prayers immediately or prevent bad things from happening. But faith isn’t about understanding everything—faith is about trusting in Him even when we don’t understand Him.

The Power of Surrender

The Bible teaches us that if we want peace, then we must come to Him with an open heart and mind. We should never be afraid to be honest and vulnerable with Him because He already knows everything regardless of whether we tell Him. He will take all the pain and suffering we carry with us; however, He can only do so if we allow Him into our hearts and minds.

When we give ourselves over to God, He will mend the broken places inside of us with His grace and mercy. And that’s why accepting Jesus is important—it gives us access to the healing power of His love. This kind of trust comes naturally when you experience His faithfulness firsthand.

As someone who has experienced God’s presence during my toughest times, I want my readers to know that they don’t have to run any longer; they can surrender their struggles right now by accepting who Jesus is and how much He loves them unconditionally.

No matter what you are going through right now, know that you are not alone—God is always here for you, no matter how many times you run away from Him or push Him away in your times of struggle. True peace comes when we surrender all our worries and doubts at His feet by accepting who Jesus is as Lord and Savior in our life.

So don’t be afraid to come boldly before God’s throne today! Let go, let God do His work in you, and find peace even in the surrounding chaos!
